The The Newmarket Viaduct is part of the Auckland motorway system and is one of the busiest stretches of road in New Zealand. After 45 years the viaduct was beginning to show signs of wear and tear along with inherent seismic weaknesses and its replacement was essential – but this had to be completed without disruption to the daily flow of traffic.
