On the evidence of this book there seems no question that David Bain is guilty. His actions are shown as a perfectly rational response to the situation he found himself in. But this is too hard for us to admit as a community - we prefer to point the finger and shout about innocence because it is a very good way of looking steadfastly in the wrong direction.
