This is the biography of Nola Luxford. In 1919 she left New Zealand for Hollywood. She made a career in film and radio, moving to New York as one of the first female netwok news announcers in America. During World War II she was a valuable contact for antipodean servicemen, sharing the experience of Manhattan's theatre, music, art and opera with them.
