This is a book about contemporary art and food. In it, renowned wine, food and art critic Keith Stewart profiles the work of 16 important and acclaimed New Zealand painters and provides a highly accessible and insightful commentary on their painting, their inspiration and the background against which they work. He then shifts his focus to look at some aspect of the relationship that each of these artists has with food, before finishing with a favorite recipe, or recipes, from each featured painter. The results is fascinating and appealing and injects life and passion into an important book about New Zealand art.
